In the beginning there was Chaos...

I will make a short introduction to a story in Greek mythology. I should warn you that in order to understand it, as any other mythology, it is important not to take it "literally".
In the beginning there was Chaos ... from Chaos the Cosmos was made .... Cosmos was ordered in Gaia, Tartarus and Eros. Gaia, the Primordial Earth, produced Uranus, the starry sky, with whom he was married and lived in constant copula. Gaia generated life spontaneously; however, each born child Uranus thought was monstrous and, unsatisfied, returned it to the womb.
And so, Gaia, unhappy with the impossibility to see their children move over its surface, brought them together to ask them to help her end the tyranny of Uranus. The only son who was willing to help her was Cronus, the god of time, because he identified with her pain.
In a given night, Gaia gave to her son a scythe forged on her own innards, and when Uranus lay over her, Cronus castrated him. From Uranus’ phallus, which fell into the sea, a foaming was formed, the birthplace of Aphrodite.
Thus, Cronus dethroned his father and together with his sister Rhea, the Mother Goddess, took the throne. Reigned so tyrannical as his father, because he learned from an oracle that one of his sons would dethrone him also. Thus, each child born, he swallowed it.
There came a time when Rhea, like her mother, also felt frustrated for not seeing their children grow and develop on its surface. Thus, when Zeus, her last son was born, instead of giving it to his father, Rhea wrapped a stone in linen cloths and gave that for him to swallow. And Cronus did it, without even looking, because he believed it to be his newborn son. While Zeus was taken to a cave and there he was raised in secret by trusted nymphs of Rhea.
When arrived in adolescence, Zeus, led by Metis, the Prudence, gave a beverage for his father, Cronus, and as soon as he drank that, he threw up all the other children who had been swallowed before - Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Poseidon and Pluto. The brothers came together, overthrew Cronus and in agreement, divided the kingdom among the three.
Pluto took over the underworld, the inferior, and became the Lord of the Underworld. Poseidon ruled the seas and rivers. And Zeus married his sister Hera and together they reigned over the surface of Earth and Heaven.
Zeus became the father of gods and men, hence he had several sacred marriages, and thus many children.
With Hera, his wife and sister, generated Ares, the god of war. With his sister Demeter had Core, the young. With the nymph Maia had Hermes, the messenger god. And so on ...
They were called by the Greek "Olympic gods" because they lived as one big family on Mount Olympus, the highest mountain in Greece. And whenever they met for their "family meetings" one of their favorite subjects was the human being.
